My company has adopted the Medallion Model. Where does EASL fit?
EASL sits upstream from Bronze, and can do raw to Bronze to Silver transformations. It ensures that the data entering the lake arrives complete, validated, structured, and traceable. That reduces the amount of wrangling that typically occurs between Bronze and Silver, and keeps downstream modeling (including Gold-level semantic layers) more reliable. Teams that adopt the Medallion Model often use EASL to control variability at the source so the rest of the architecture remains predictable.
